Andrew Polk

This series is made up of monoprints taken from routed, carved and textured plywood plates using Akua™ intaglio and relief inks. Relief, intaglio, a la poupé, and viscosity techniques were employed in single or double drops.

As with most of his works of this period, Polk's intent is to mirror the dynamics of nature through abstraction. Here, he is focused on how they would be experienced by undocumented workers making their way through the Sonoran Desert region.
